About the Spanish Workbook Pages:
These workbook pages will be a collection of 45 lessons created to help students who are learning to read and write in Spanish become fluent in reading and writing.
You can use these pages for:
*Homework
*Homeschool
*Small Group
*Sub Plans
The first 6 lessons are about learning the vowels. They focus on letter recognition, letter formation, and phonemic awareness. Students should not continue to lesson 7 if they do not know the vowels well.
The rest of the lessons will add a letter each time, which means that, while lesson 7 (letter Mm), will only include letter Mm and the 5 vowels, lesson 8 (letter Pp) will include letter Mm, letter Pp, and the five vowels, etc.
Students are not meant to work these worksheets alone. They need an adult to explain what they should do and check their work—especially when it comes to phonemic awareness and writing, although not excluding reading.
You can use the letter and picture cards to practice letter names and initial sounds as much as possible with students.
I recommend student without alphabetic knowledge to start with the lower-case letters first. Upper case recognition will come later.
When students write, I recommend the use of a pencil. But coloring is also a skill to practice, since it helps develop motor skills—as does cutting and gluing.
Each lesson does not necessarily mean one week. Use these pages as your student(s) grow(s) or to reinforce concepts.
Cut and save the High Frequency Words (HFW) cards that start on Lesson 6, and practice reading and writing them with your students.
Cut and save the syllable cards that start on Lesson 7 and create 2 or 3 syllable non-sense words for the student to read to improve accuracy and fluency.
