Hello, everyone!
I’m alive!
I’ve had an eventual summer, but I took June as a mental break. A much-needed mental break.
I was hacked!
The real reason you haven’t heard from me since the end of May, it’s because my Paypal account was hacked and all of my money stolen. I spent about two weeks changing passwords and reporting it to Paypal and the Identity Theft website. I did everything I could. After about a month, I finally won the case and I got my money back. I immediately transferred it to a new bank account. Unfortunately, I can’t delete my Paypal account, since I need it for TpT to work. 🙁
Travel and Writing
I also went to California for our extended family vacation and to Mexico, with the other side of our extended family. It was fun.I didn’t create any teacher resources during that time. Instead, I wrote a fiction book (well, almost, it’s about 90% finished). I wanted to finish the first draft during the summer, but now I don’t know if that’ll happen. Eep!Anyway…I think I got my energies back the end of June, when I got the Paypal issue resolved, because I started feeling creative again. I have uploaded a few resources to TpT since that day (47 to be exact… maybe more than a few).
I love my new Alphabet Crowns!
My favorite new resource that I made are the Spanish alphabet crowns. One per letter. I attended a teacher online conference last week and I got the idea, and I made them already. I teach reading in Spanish to 5 year olds in a Title I school and it’s very important that they learn to identify the 5 vowels as soon as possible. So now I have my alphabet decodable books to practice beginning print awareness and phonemic awareness, my new writing and drawing alphabet pages, my writing pages (that I don’t have on TpT), the letter crowns, and my new Spanish interactive games. The best thing is, I have all these for every vowel! I feel like my teacher life is complete. (Oh, and I also got these great vowel plushies from Alphapals.)
Those interactive games I was telling you about come from another conference I attended online. I learned to make these neat online games on Google Slides. I made some for the vowels, and one for reading simple 2-syllable words. I want to make more, but it’ll be a while before I have time to design them. Besides, I’m not needing more until week 8. Time will tell.I got more ideas during those conferences, but I haven’t been working on those yet. Maybe later 😉
More Decodable Books
For a while I was needing decodable books for opposites and similar words. I also really needed one to help explain and review Goods and Services. These decodable books are available in Bilingual, English or Spanish. Then, I also finished more Spanish guided reading books for my ¿Qué puedo hacer? BUNDLE that I had almost completed in May. Those books are levels D to G. |
What I'm working on
Right now, I’m creating more Missing Word stories and I will follow that with Fairy Tale sequencing activities (I already have the template ready and I’m ready to go. I also continue to write the first draft of last collection of the Lee Conmigo books, the ones themed to Fall.
Publishing on Amazon
The other thing I did was publish a bunch of books! You can now find the Spanish Summer books in the Lee Conmigo Collection for 1st-2nd grade on Amazon and a comprehension activity book. I’m going to a book fair in August and want to take many books with me. In fact, I am in the process of correcting the paperback cover of the Alphabet Decodable Book Collection #6. I keep correcting it and they keep telling me it’s not approved! I made more changes last night and I haven’t heard back. So, cross your fingers.

Take care!
